Ideas that Stuck
Have you heard? Futurist Ray Kurzweil thinks we might achieve immortality by 2030! He predicts tiny robots called nanobots will be able to repair our bodies at the cellular level, essentially reversing the aging process. While it sounds like science fiction, Kurzweil has a track record of accurate predictions, so who knows? Immortality might be closer than we think! I don't know what to think about it. What about you? Read more
For the aspiring authors and writers in Mattia Group: Guess what? Author Paul Millerd recently hit a major milestone: 50,000 books sold! The surprising part? He didn't expect this level of success. His journey has been full of unexpected twists and turns, and he's still amazed by how many people are enjoying his work. It just goes to show that sometimes, the most rewarding paths are the ones we least expect! Look at how it happened here.
I came across a book last year, "Ego is the Enemy" by Ryan Holiday, that really stuck with me. It's a deep dive into human nature, and I recognized so many of my own flaws and past behaviors in its pages. It also helped me understand the motivations of others in a new light. Reading this book felt like a revelation, putting into words some things we already knew but couldn't articulate. I highly recommend it – it might just be as impactful for you as it was for me. Access the book here.

Two Thoughts to Ponder
I've been thinking about this stuff. I'm sharing this here.
- You aren't where you want to be because (Dan Koe, 2024):
- You didn't make the choices that led to a purposeful career.
- You didn't make the choices that led to fulfilling relationships.
- You didn't make the choices that led to a healthy and aesthetic body.
- The ability to teach yourself is the most valuable skill you can develop (thejustinwelsh, 2024).
- Learn how to learn.
- Then go wherever that knowledge takes you.
Short Update
- JLPT exam update: The results will be out this October. It was difficult because my preparation and time spent studying were lacking. It's not the end of the world. The future looks bright. I may take the next JLPT exam. You can read my reflection about the experience here.
What's New
Since last month's month-end update newsletter, these are the new items added to the platform:
- New Chat Widget: We can chat live when I'm online. You can ask me questions. See it at the bottom-left. If I'm offline, email us at reymattia2024@gmail.com so we can respond back to you.
- Mattia Library is now available for free accounts. Check this out here. If users want offline access, they can upgrade their account. They'll also be getting more than that. P.S. We'll also be adding books weekly.
We'll be focusing more on other areas in the coming months to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Mattia Group.
Shorts Thoughts
- It's nice to have these monthly updates as they help me think about what we could improve in advance. It helps me document what I'm learning, what's new, and what could be in the future.
- Some members asked about a simple guide on how to use the retirement calculator. Hopefully, this is good: click here.
